How information on this site is researched

Health and legal content deserves a published standard. This is ours.

Primary sources first

State program facts (telehealth rules, fees, possession limits, qualifying conditions) are researched against official state program websites, statutes, and regulations. Medical claims cite evidence reviews from the National Academies, NIH/NCCIH, and FDA — not blogs, not vendors. Every state page and condition page lists its sources at the bottom.

Verified links only

References are included only after the cited page has been opened and checked against the claim it supports. Where an official source can't be programmatically re-verified (some government sites block automated checks), we say so in the citation rather than dropping the standard silently.

Dated claims, scheduled reviews

State law in this space changes constantly — nine states materially changed rules in 2025–2026 alone. Every data-driven page carries its review date (currently: June 2026), and our data layer flags lower-confidence items internally for priority re-verification. Our target review cadence is quarterly, faster when major federal or state changes land.

Evidence honesty over conversion copy

Where the evidence is weak — cannabis for depression, glaucoma, migraines — our pages say it's weak, including when that's bad for sales. Where regulators disagree with popular claims (the American Academy of Ophthalmology on glaucoma, for example), we cite the regulator.

No fabricated trust signals

No invented review counts, no fake aggregate ratings in our structured data, no imaginary doctors. Trust markers appear on this site only when they reflect something real.

Clear boundaries

Nothing here is medical or legal advice. Certification decisions belong to licensed physicians; legal questions about employment, firearms, or custody belong with attorneys in your state. Our guides link primary law so you and your advisors can read it directly.
